Basic Obedience (for dogs 7 months +)


BowDogs are well behaved dogs, and dogs with manners have more fun! Respect and obedience are important lessons for your dog’s safety and happy family integration. The Better BowDog focuses on basic dog obedience training, on leash walking, mastering household rules, expectation creation, confidence building as well as every day manners. Join us for this four week dog training course in Calgary with over 10 hour of instruction that will get you ready to bring your dog wherever you go!

Required Tools:

  • Properly fit martingale collar
  • Motivating treats or your dog’s favorite toy
  • Weather appropriate clothing (layers encouraged)
  • 6 foot leash and/or Jac Trac Hands Free Leash Set

Course Schedule:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:15pm-8:30pm

This course runs two nights per week

Puppy Obedience and Socialization

(ages 10 weeks- 6 months) 


Start you and your puppy off right with this five week training course just for puppies and lay the foundation for a happy, social, well behaved dog that you can take anywhere!  BowPup focuses on socialization, on leash walking, expectation creation, basic obedience, and exposure to new an exciting things!  You’ll leave with a solid understanding of canine behavior and a polite puppy.

Beginner’s Recreational Agility

Beginner’s agility dog training at its best, instructed in a fun and positive environment!  A fun, new sport for you and your dog that will challenge her mind and body while strengthening your bond.  Learn the basics of agility including jumps, tunnels, A-frames, confidence building, course safety and more!  Join us for this five week course with over 10 hours of instruction and get ready to show off your dog’s athletic abilities and see if your dog has what it takes to continue to competition level courses!

Intermediate Recreational Agility

 

Have you mastered the basics of canine agility with your best friend?  Participate in this weekly class to continue developing skills, build a solid foundation, focus on timing, targets and showmanship.  Join us for this 8 week course to celebrate your dog’s advancement in this fun sport!

 Recreational Flyball: All Levels 


If you have a dog that loves to fetch, run or chase, Flyball dog training is the sport for you! Have fun with this fast paced, high energy sport that challenges your dog’s mind and body.  Strengthen your bond while working on distance and action commands.  You and your dog will learn the basics of the popular sport of Flyball from a tenured and competitive coach well respected on the course.

Required Tools:

  • Properly fit collar or properly fit harness
  • Motivating treats or your dog’s favorite toy
  • Weather appropriate clothing (layers encouraged)
  • 6 foot leash

Course Requirements:

  • Completion of BowPup, Better BowDog or equivalent (approved by instructor during registration)
  • Good recall, leash manners and focus.  Dogs will be
    working to off-leash competition, dogs with a history of aggression
    towards people or dogs may not participate.
  • Dogs that have a love for fetch or are ball driven are naturals at this sport.  Dogs that are not interested in playing with balls and toys can still participate but creating interest is a large part of the sport for those dogs.
