Dog Walkers: Part-Time
    The Perfect Job for Someone Who:  be active and busy during a 4 or 8 hour shift, wants to earn some extra money walking dogs on leash in a fun work environment

    Candidates Must:  
  • Be prepared to be active; a majority of working with dogs requires walking and being on your feet
  • Be physically fit, able to walk 2-3 hours a day and be on your feet a majority of the day, lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Transportation is not required but is an asset.  If you take transit, you must be prepared to arrive early, but never late.
  • Learn handling techniques, pet first aid and canine behavior
  • Genuinely care for the animals in your charge, their general health and well being in and outside of our facility
  • Be perceptive; the ability to multi-task and be aware of your surroundings
  • Be an excellent team member, make the environment a better place with feedback and input and take direction when needed from team leads and managers
  • Ability to follow direction, protocol and check lists
  • Be flexible - availability to work various shifts, various days.

BowDog Canine Specialists: Operations Manager

BowDog Canine Specialists is looking for an Operations Manager who can consistently provide our canine guests with an outstanding experience, which is achieved by adhering to our standards of quality care and service.

Our facility is open 7 days a week , 24 hours a day offering dog daycare, boarding, grooming, rescue and retail from our central Calgary location.

We will prepare and support you for success in your role and put you in an environment that has the highest standards and in a team with a positive attitude and a winning mindset.

As Operations Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Upholding the highest quality standards of canine care, health, customer services and financial management.
  • Ensuring proper training and supervision of all operations employees
  • Meeting or exceed daily sales goals
  • Ensuring the facility is properly stocked for uninterrupted operations
  • Managing daily operational goals and staffing needs
  • Accountable for all Human Resource functions (i.e. recruitment, coach & develop team, performance evaluations, discipline and terminations).
  • Working with Customer Service Management to utilize social media and marketing skills to promote and grow the client base
  • Excellent use of time management skills and attention to detail
  • Being a dynamic and hardworking leader, ensuring your enthusiasm, energy and ability spill onto other staff

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous management experience
  • Experience in animal care or related field preferred
  • Have ability to manage our facility with a high level of attention to detail, care and fun
  • Post-Secondary degree completion preferred, completion of high-school diploma required
  • Excellent writing and speaking ability, proficiency with professional communication by phone and email

Pack Leaders (Full Time and Part Time Availability)

  • Admitting dogs into play groups suited to their size and temperament
  • Walking packs of dogs on leash throughout the entire shift
  • Supervising dogs during indoor and outdoor off leash play
  • Regulating play time with exercise and obedience
  • Cleaning (cleanliness is key to the health and safety of the dogs in our care)
  • Communicating daily news and events to other staff members and team leads
  • Communicating feedback on dogs in our care to administrative staff and clients
  • Ability to learn, listen, educate and communicate
  • Landscaping and property maintenance when necessary

Seeking Overnight Janitorial Staff

    Candidates Must:
  • Be able to work independently and efficiently without much direction/supervision
  • Provide a clean security/background check.
  • Be physically fit; BowDog is a large facility, with a lot of cleaning to manage!
  • Be perceptive; have the ability to multi-task and be aware of your surroundings and the dogs in our care
  • Be easily accessible via phone, text and email.
  • Trustworthiness and honesty are an absolute must for this position.
  • Have confidence handling dogs of all sizes and breeds.
  • Have a willingness to learn handling techniques, pet first aid and canine behaviour.
    Job Duties:
  • Overall cleaning of the facility while dogs are down for bed (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, disinfecting)
  • Need to be aware of the dogs while preparing the facility for the next day's round of fun!
